Dear Maddie,
I’ve been having a hard time with my family. Two years ago, my parents got divorced. What should I do?
From, Split in Two
Everyone doesn’t always get along with their parents, even families whose parents aren’t divorced. Here’s what you can try.
First of all, it might help for them to know how you feel. You should tell them or anyone you trust how you feel, and you might have an easy solution. You should also try to stay in contact with the parent that you don’t live with. Good luck!

Dear Maddie,
I have swimming practice on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. But I also have a lot of homework. How can I manage my time?
From, Sinking Swimmer
I understand how you feel. I have activities 4 nights a week! Here’s what I do to manage my time and what you can do, too.
You could do your homework in the car when you go or leave from practice. You could also do it before or after practice at home. If you need to, you could also do it before you go to school or eat breakfast. Good luck!

Dear Maddie,
Can you help me with my problem? My friends are not that nice to me on the playground.
From, Friendship Trouble
I have that problem all of the time! Here’s what you can do.
First of all, you should tell them how you feel. Maybe then they’ll realize that they are hurting your feelings. If they won’t listen to you, tell a teacher or someone you trust. Then they could talk to your friends and then they might not be mean to you anymore. If none of this works, play with other friends. It’s just not worth it to chase after a friend that is too mean to stop. Good luck!
